Plans for Coverage of School Sports

The Acton Exchange Team recognizes that coverage of sports, especially school and youth sports, is a staple of community news, and our vision going forward includes robust coverage of this important aspect of our community. Responsible coverage of Sports involves new challenges for our emerging news organization, around fairness, conflict of interest, and protection of minors. We aspire to begin regular coverage of school sports beginning with the fall 2024 season. If you would like to be part of this exciting new phase of the Acton Exchange’s growth, please email info@actonexchange.org, specifying what volunteer role you could see yourself playing.

When this reporter reached out to the Acton-Boxborough winter sports coaches for a season preview, girls basketball coach Jesus Rodriguez was the first to respond. In a phone conversation today, Mr. Rodriguez said his young squad will benefit from the experience of one returning senior, plus junior Claire Chimento.
